twilight

by stephenie meyer

1 avg rating
The movie tie-in edition of the #1 bestselling trade paperback includes a collectible full-color, fold-out poster.

Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

sword of truth

The Sword of Truth, Boxed Set I, Books 1-3
Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, and Blood of the Fold

Book 1: Wizards First Rule
The masterpiece that started The New York Times bestselling epic Sword of Truth

In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help . . . and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.

In a dark age it takes courage to live, and more than mere courage to challenge those who hold dominion, Richard and Kahlan must take up that challenge or become the next victims. Beyond awaits a bewitching land where even the best of their hearts could betray them. Yet, Richard fears nothing so much as what secrets his sword might reveal about his own soul. Falling in love would destroy them--for reasons Richard can't imagine and Kahlan dare not say.
In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword--to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed . . . or that their time has run out.
This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend.

Book 2: Stone of Tears
An Epic of Awesome Power

Kahlan has at last gained the one goal she had always thought was beyond her grasp ... love. Against all odds, the ancient bonds of secret oaths, and the dark talents of men long dead, Richard has won her heart.

Amid sudden and disastrous events, Richard's life is called due to satisfy those treacherous oaths. To save his life, Kahlan must forsake Richard's love and cast him into the chains of slavery, knowing there could be no sin worse than such a betrayal.

Richard is determined to unlock the secrets bound in the magic of ancient oaths and to again be free. Kahlan, alone with the terrible truth of what she has done, must set about altering the course of a world thrown into war. But even that may be easier than ever winning back the heart of the only man she will ever love.

Book 3: Blood of the Fold
An Epic of Two Worlds

In a world as rich and real as our own, Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell stand against the ancient forces which besiege the New World-- forces so terrible that when last they threatened, they could only be withstood by sealing off the Old World from whence they came. Now the barrier has been breached, and the New World is again beset by their evil power.

War and treachery plague the world, and only Richard and Kahlan can save it from an armageddon of unimaginable savagery and destruction.

Terry Goodkind, author of the brilliant bestsellers Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears, has created his most masterful epic yet, a sumptuous feast of magic and excitement replete with the wonders of his unique fantasy vision.

s First Law Series

by Joe Abercrombie

Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he’s on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian – leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies.

Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

Inquisitor Glokta, cripple turned torturer, would like nothing better than to see Jezal come home in a box. But then Glokta hates everyone: cutting treason out of the Union one confession at a time leaves little room for friendship. His latest trail of corpses may lead him right to the rotten heart of government, if he can stay alive long enough to follow it.

Enter the wizard, Bayaz. A bald old man with a terrible temper and a pathetic assistant, he could be the First of the Magi, he could be a spectacular fraud, but whatever he is, he's about to make the lives of Logen, Jezal, and Glotka a whole lot more difficult.

Murderous conspiracies rise to the surface, old scores are ready to be settled, and the line between hero and villain is sharp enough to draw blood. Unpredictable, compelling, wickedly funny, and packed with unforgettable characters, The Blade Itself is noir fantasy with a real cutting edge.

I agree with this list actually! The only problem is that Twilight is a good book, and should not be number 1. I think Game of Thrones, The Name of the Wind, Lord of the Rings, and I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell are overated.
Anonymous | 2017-03-02 05:21:20
I'm confused. Do I give a book a thumbs up because I want it to be ranked higher on the list of worst books? Or do I give it a thumbs down because I hated the book? You really should clarify this.

Anonymous | 2015-01-21 04:41:14
Note guys this Worst List is not as accurate as it should be. I need to code some special things in for negative lists that change the way things are ranked. Right now, there are other factors that are adjusting the rankings of the books such as the total number of votes a book has. This means the list rankings for the WORST list is getting a bit skewed. I'm on my list to fix... Ben (Admin)

What fuckers put lord of the rings on this list of worst! Humanity is dead
Anonymous | 2015-01-10 10:49:39
OK, this list just SUCKS. I mean, WHY the HELL would someone rate HARRY POTTER as one of the WORST FANTASY BOOKS EVER? I definitely see why Twilight is the worst (it's OBVIOUS), but the others I don't understand.

This list is shit. Half of this list is comprised of solid books Malazan Empire Series Kingkiller Chronicles Stormlight Archives Mistborn Series Song of Ice and Fire
Anonymous | 2014-05-28 12:14:29
This list is just silly. It seams to me people are just adding books to get some kind of reaction from people. However,I do agree with the WOT
Anonymous | 2014-05-06 10:09:38
Words of radiance added to list, reason: Books with bad sequel.
Anonymous | 2014-04-19 07:27:41
This list sucks. Except for the obvious choice of the Twilight series, I cannot have any faith in a list that has some if the best books in the list. Example being The Name of the Wind and A Wise Mans Fear. Two of the best books I have read. Plus this has Brandan Sanderson Mistborn Series which is again idiotic... And the book series' that are really good but not great Like the Sword of Truth series, the Eragon series, The Night Angel Series and many others. This is a poor list compiled by people...
Anonymous | 2013-12-04 01:04:01
My mother and I are still laughing when tlaking about this book, four years after our attempt to read it. We just stopped, and we usually never stop reading a book even if its really bad.
Anonymous | 2013-03-17 09:04:43
Yeah... I agree with most, but it would be nice to know WHY, not just 'meh, I read this and I didn't really like it so I'll put it on the list'?
Anonymous | 2012-12-31 03:24:31
Wouldn't it be more useful to identify WHY these are bad or good?
