Why is it on the list Twice? Oh, I see, you forgot the "s" at the end of Chronicles the second time. Might want to correct this

so this is the same story as rastlin Marje from the dragonlnace series yet everyone says dragonlance was a bad story line that didnt add anything to the genre that wasn't already there

I don't think it's the plot that sets this series apart, but rather the quality of the writing.

    100% agree with this

definitely one of the better writers in the genre. Its literary fantasy, and Rothfuss' has one of the most unique voices I've read in a decade. Now, if he would just finish the third main book.

So far, I've only read "The Name of the Wind" and found it a slow read. Maybe the next two books will pick up the pace, but I've heard they dont'.

the "third" book is a novella that doesn't fit in the main narrative, rather it's an exploration of a truly unique but peripheral character from main story line.

I have never tried so hard to like a book. I just can't get through it. I don't understand the great reviews, it just crawls on and on and on with nothing of substance happening. There's just to much good stuff out there to keep trying to get through this boredom.

A great series, but I would strongly recommend NOT starting it until the author pulls his finger out and actually finished the latest book. There are many people who believe that he's never actually going to finish the series, so there may never be resolution to the plot.

I like the story, but once I have managed to obtain and read the final book in the trilogy I won't be reading anything else by Rothfuss until the series is complete.
