    I am nearly done with this book and enjoying it, but it does remind me of another book I read by Michael Curtis Ford with the same title. I read your synopsis here and am glad to see that I wasn't loosing my mind.

    Compared to the Malazan Book of the Fallen, this is mediocre. I enjoyed it though.
